Dr. Willy Fjeldskaar holds a Dr. Scient. degree in Geophysics, Solid Earth Physics, from University of Bergen (1981). He had a position as Scientific assistant and Scholar at the University of Bergen (1978-81), was post-doc at the Penn State University, USA (1982) and joined RF-Rogaland Research in 1986. He was in 1990 appointed Chief Scientist at RF-Rogaland Research (now IRIS), and has been manager for many years. He left IRIS in 2009, and is now also adjunct professor at the University of Stavanger in reservoir geology.

Fjeldskaar is highly experienced as regards project activities. He has been the project manager of the large Petromaks project Vøtec, and principal investigator in the Petromaks projects GlaciPet and PetroBar. He has been in charge of the basin modelling software BMT (Basin Modelling Toolbox), and related activities at IRIS.
