The results from some Tectonor research projects and internal mapping studies regarding the effects of glaciations on petroleum systems are now available in off-the-shelf reports. All maps following the reports are delivered in Petrel projects.

Report 1503 - Cenozoic erosion in the SE Barents Sea

This report gives information about the Quaternary glaciations and estimates of the glacial and pre-glacial erosion in SE Barents Sea. The glacial and pre-glacial erosion is estimated by geological/geomorphological modeling. In addition to the report we deliver maps (grid files on Petrel formats) on the magnitude of the glacial erosion during three main phases of Quaternary glaciations. We also provide a map (grid) of predicted total Cenozoic pre-glacial erosion of the area.

Report 1502 - Neogene Uplift of the Hoop area

The report contains information about glaciations, estimates of the glacial and pre-glacial erosion, and quantifications of the isostatic response of various glaciations in the Hoop area. In addition to the report we deliver maps (grid files on Petrel formats) of the magnitude of the glacial erosion during three main phases of Quaternary glaciations from geomorphological modelling. Maps (grids) of the isostatic uplift and subsequent tilt of the Hoop area in each of the glacial phases are also included. In addition we provide two versions of estimated pre-glacial Cenozoic erosion of the area (max and min estimates) from basin modelling studies.

Report 1501 - Neogene erosion of the Barents Sea

It is generally accepted that the Barents Sea has been subject to huge erosion during the Cenozoic. Detailed control of the glacial history and pre-glacial Cenozoic erosion is therefore an important factor for petroleum exploration in the Barents Sea. This report contains information on the glaciation history and estimations of three glacial erosion phases, as well as one pre-glacial erosion phase. The glacial erosion phases has been reconstructed by geological and geomorphological modelling, where mass balance of eroded and deposited material has been an important part of the work flow. The pre-glacial erosion has been modelled by reconstructing geohistory, temperature history and vitrinite reflectance along several 2D lines, and calibrated with well data. The glacial erosion phases are estimated for the entire Barents Sea, whereas the pre-glacial erosion is modelled for the southwestern Barents Sea.

5 digital maps/grids are included in the purchase; three maps of glacial erosion, in addition to one minimum and one maximum estimate of pre-glacial erosion. Animations of geohistory (structural reconstruction) and temperature history for eleven 2D lines covering the southwestern Barents Sea will also be included.
