Objectives

1.  Objectives

-  To quantify the ongoing relative sea level changes and land uplift in Norway by using tide gauges combined with precise leveling and satellite measurements

-  To develop models that describe the Glacial Isostatic Adjustments (GIA) in Norway, the hydro-isostatic responses to global sea level changes as well as the effects caused by the changing gravitmetric attraction by the large ice sheets

-  To work out realistic scenarios for future relative sea level changes in Norway (including the North sea, the Norwegian Sea and the Barents Sea) as a response to various predictions of changes in the global climate and resulting changes in global mean sea levels

-  To utilize the obtained scenarios to assess the impact of future sea level changes on coastal and offshore infrastructure in Norway
